Navigation and Access
The Draft EU Constitution includes the following main divisions:
Part I with 59 Articles
Part II with 54 Articles
Part III with 342 Articles
Part IV with 10 Articles.
The sections PROTOCOLS and DECLARATIONS include 21 sections.
It is advisable to look through one of the two presentations below - one slide show, and one more detailed explanation. These describe the overall structure, options for navigating through the hypertext, access points to documents related to the plenary meetings, and so on.
The hypertextual version has the following features (see figure below):
  • Cross-references from one Article to another are realised as hypertextual links and thereby supporting immediate access to the referenced Articles.
  • This presentation includes about 321 hypertextual cross-references between Articles. Each screen display also includes buttons for Next (move to next element) and Previous, in addition to the navigation buttons in your net browser.
  • A complete and detailed Table of Contents is available via the link in the upper right corner in each screen display.
  • In order to make the access to the individual Articles more convenient, this digital version includes contextual information made visible in each screen display.
  • The contextual information for each entry point is added in a header section above a dotted line in the colour blue. Each element in this contextual information can be activated and supports eaiser access to previous entry points as Titles, Sections, Subsections, etc.
  • The screen capture in the figure below displays Article III-19 as current, and the header section shows that this particular article is positioned in Subsection 1 of Section 2 of Chapter 1 under Title III in Part III. As mentioned above, these entry points may also be activated.
  • The pane to the left contains entry points to the main parts of this digital version of the Draft EU Constitution. Each entry point marked with the symbol '+' may be expanded.
