DRAFT TREATY ESTABLISHING A CONSTITUTION FOR EUROPE

"In preparation for signature, the text of the Treaty establishing a Constitution
for Europe
has still to be edited by the Council's Legal/Linguistic Experts in the 21 languages in
which it will be authentic within the meaning of Article
IV-10 of the said Treaty. Editing
will
begin at the end of June and be completed at the end of October 2004.Finally, it should be noted that the Intergovernmental Conference agreed on continuous
numbering of the text of the Constitution using arabic numerals, with the proviso that, in
order to accentuate the division of the Constitution into four parts, the arabic numerals
will be accompanied in each case by a Roman numeral corresponding to the relevant
part. The Council's Legal/Linguistic Experts will carry out the renumbering exercise and
check the accuracy of all crossreferences between articles and paragraphs. "
