BATMULT facilitates short stays (3 to 12 months) at the Bergen site by young researchers pursuing doctoral studies in computational approaches to multilingual resources, tools for multilingual processing, language learning and language interaction modeling.

The site at the University of Bergen is established through support from the European Union's 5th Framework Programme for Research, "Improving Human Research Potential and the Socio-economic Knowledge Base", Marie Curie Host Fellowship scheme. 

BATMULT offers interdisciplinary training in multilingual resources and tools through courses, project work and individual supervision. The site is open to PhD students in relevant disciplines, wishing to increase their knowledge and skills with multilingual resources, and tools in the context of their PhD project.

The site has been operative from February 2002 through January 23, 2007.
